The Cambridge × Manchester Partnership – Investor Summit 2026

Weeks before he became Prime Minister, Andy Burnham singled out one partnership as proof that Britain's regions achieve more by working together than by competing: Cambridge and Manchester. Today, with Number 10 North open in Manchester and the government's National Economic Council meeting in the city each week, devolution is starting to look like government policy.

Devolved power for regions matters but it is not the whole story. The real gains come when empowered places choose to work together rather than compete.

The Cambridge x Manchester Partnership was built in 2024 to test it. Two of the UK's most powerful innovation ecosystems, working as one, to unlock economic growth, build for global impact and deliver good growth for the people who live here. This is where you see what that looks like in practice.

The inaugural Innovation Summit brings together the people building Britain's innovation economy: academics, founders, corporates, policymakers and civic leaders. A State of Innovation keynote, a flagship panel on the Partnership in practice, six lightning talks across our priority sectors, and a Big Question put to a panel: what does a world-class innovation ecosystem actually require, and what is Britain still missing?
